Current Storm Lake Iowa Real Estate Market Conditions
Unfortunately, (don't you hate to read something that starts with that?) our market is beginning to feel the negative impact of the tighter mortgage market, drag of home values because of foreclosures and short sales. It is becoming harder and harder to qualify for a mortgage, 99% of the time you need a down payment. I wish we had never gotten away from needing a down payment but we did. Once the zero down became the norm everyone thought they could get a mortgage with very little work or sacrifice on their part. It is great that we live in a country where you can own property, I believe nearly everyone should exercise that American privlige. We just need to step back into being responsible and being able to work, plan and wait for the things that mean so much to us.
